This is a one-week residential retreat with horses including a four-day workshop for everyone wishing to develop a deeper connection with their horses.
Camille and Daniele, our tutors, say:
Our goal is to help people find harmony with their horses and also with themselves.
Developing the relationship with our beloved equine friends is not always simple, and it’s easy to feel lost and frustrated in the process. What’s my horse saying to me? Why can’t I get the response I want from my horse? Why do I feel my horse doesn’t listen to me or respect me?
These are questions that everyone who has owned or worked with horses has had at some stage, and it’s nothing to feel ashamed about. We will share with you how we progressed from there, so you can do the same.
Driven by a passion for horses, we went looking for answers in many countries and with many masters, including Jean-Francois Pignon, Tristan Thucker, Giulia Gaibazzi, and Equestri. After many enriching experiences we reached a simple conclusion: the answer to these questions is not to be found in a particular training method but more in a philosophy, in a new way of thinking when we approach our horses, in a state of mind, in a form of empathy that makes us understand them more deeply.
Not surprisingly, we discovered that all this is not only beneficial for our connection with our horses but also for our relationship with ourselves. Horses are a mirror of our emotions and thoughts: to understand them involves understanding ourselves and vice versa.
This is a profound lifetime journey, unique for each person.

We will work in a small group of up to eight people in order to create the best learning conditions for you, and the retreat will be cancelled if less than four subscribe.
The remaining time at La Volee will be hosted by Erica, with opportunity to swim in the ponds, wander in the woods, picnic in the beautiful valley or meditate outside or under cover. She says: I will help with suggestions for local outings, and off-road walking and riding is available directly off the property. Any riding is discretionary and strictly at your own risk. We have a herd of pure and part-bred rare-breed gaited mountain horses, who live free in a herd and are ridden barefoot and bitless in a relaxed, western trail style.
