A week with free-living horses on a Normandy farm.
09/07/2023 – 15/07/2023
We are delighted to host Katarina Lundgren, head of the MiMeR centre, an international non-profit organization dedicated to research and education in all fields of equine-human interaction, at La Volée. From Monday to Friday in the mornings Katarina will lead the group in learning about Trauma-Sensitive Equine-Assisted Mindfulness (TS EAM), working with our herd of nine mountain horses on our 10 hectares of pasture, woods and ponds in a beautiful valley.
Erica will be assisting Katarina in the mornings and hosting guests, and can help you to find activities on or off the farm in your free time, including the possibility to ride trails with her. Any riding is an optional extra, along with other possibilities including massage, reiki, reflexology and other treatments. There is wild swimming in the ponds and a quiet meditation and picnic area by the top pond overlooking free-ranging horses (if they oblige – there are many environments for them to choose from!).
The retreat will be fully catered for vegans and vegetarians with a BBQ available for those who are omnivores. The little town of Ger up the road has a bar. This is a new format for the delivery of TS EAM by MiMer, over five mornings instead of the previous two and a half days, and offering a residential, catered retreat at the horses’ home. We hope you will find it a way to learn that is both stimulating and relaxing: a fantastic recreational break for horse people and novices alike.
